One Year Ago Today...

One year ago today my social worker told me that she would not be continuing with my homestudy as it would be a waste of time because they would not be approving me... One year ago today I literally fell to my knees questioning, begging, sobbing, trying to figure out what God what was doing... Today I am blessed to be called Mama (or "Mommy" when he's being funny) by one of the most resilient, bursting with personality kids I have ever known.

The last five months have not been easy but today I am taking time to pause and remember all that God has done and the miracle that brought Samuel and I from where we were at this time last year to where we are today. So I read my son one more bedtime story and enjoy a couple extra minutes of snuggle time before prying his sleeping limbs off my body. I thank God for fighting on our behalf one year ago today (and every day since) and look forward to the day that I can tell Samuel the story of how God moved mountains to bring him home.

"You must be very careful not to forget the things you have seen God do for you.
Keep reminding yourselves, and tell your children and grandchildren as well."
Deuteronomy 4:9

If you haven't read the story of my homestudy miracle, I strongly encourage you to do so (or read it again if you just need to be encouraged today!). You can find Part 1 here and Part 2 here. It's a true testament to what only God can do...
